Be a Doer- Wednesday Study Notes

Here are the Bible Study notes for this Wednesday. We examined James 1:22 and found out what being a doer of the Word is really all about. Use these notes and study the verse for yourself this week!

(James 1:22 NKJV) “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves..”

“Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear!” (Message)

For discussion:

In your breakout group, discuss the following questions:

  • Why is study of the Word alone not enough for us as Believers?
  • What is the difference between a consumer Christian and a producer Christian? What do they look like?
  • How does study of the Word produce power in our lives? How does it for you, personally?
  • What is the point of the power study of the Word produces in us? How do we ‘use’ that power properly? What happens when we don’t use it properly, do you think?

Go Do it:

What are you doing with the Word of God in your life? Write down 3 things you’ve done this week with the Word from either last weekend’s sermon or your own study time.
