Pray, and then see what happens!

This Testimony is from Pastor James at our Naples campus…good stuff!

James 5:16 – Confess your trespassesto one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Talked to a member of the church this morning regarding a prayer that he was praying and the way in which to pray.  I thought it was interesting enough to blog about, because I think that it will help others in their prayer life.

This gentleman and his wife were having a hard time this week with headaches that just wouldn’t seem to let up. As you well know, headaches can really ruin a good day and turn it into quite the opposite.  They decided to pray.  Good choice.  They prayer 1 Peter 2:24 “By His stripes I was healed”.  They didn’t feel anything right away, but decided that they had done their part and the rest was up to God.  Another good decision.  Let’s look at a couple of steps that you can implement while praying:

1.  Pray from a “promise perspective”.  If God said it in His Word, then I believe it.  In this case, I was healed 2000 years ago, and I’m receiving it right now in this realm.

2. Give it to God.  “I’ve prayed and done my part, so now I’m receiving Your part.”

3.  Thank Him before you even see the answer in the physical realm.  This is like the icing no the cake.  This shows that you have the faith to receive the promise.

Thank God for answered prayer!  This gentlemen woke up this morning with no signs of a headache and is going strong.  God is good!
